"The Oregon Trail"
This is an etched and laser cut sign. I based it off of the original title screen of the green CRT screen version of the Oregon trail game, merged with a classic old west looking sign.
The original game released in 1971. In the game, players would need to take their wagon train westward in a survivor style game in which they'd have to manage resources, personnel, assess danger, and make managerial decisions. Of course, the most common game ending death would be when the player died of dysentery. The design of this sign reminds everyone of that shared experience from childhood.
This sign is made from 4 layers of 3mm birch project plywood. It is designed, cut, assembled, and hand stained by me.
The green background paint for the wagon, stars, and letters, is black light reactant.
The sign is 22in long, 9.75in tall, .47in thick, and weighs a little over 1lb.
It is a great collectible for everyone who played Oregon trail as a kid, and serves as a wonderful conversation piece for all of your guests.
Time for you to ford the river and push onward to your westward destiny!
