This is an etched and laser cut relief map of the actual schematic for the original version of The Great Movie Ride, of Walt Disney World's MGM Studios.

The map has a full list of all of the ride's show scenes. Etches of the various characters have been added to each scene. Everyone from Gene Kelly & Harrison Ford, to Judy Garland & Sigourney Weaver are etched onto this wooden map. Small representations of the ride vehicles have been spread out all across the ride tracks as well.

The map is 11in tall and 14in wide and .67in unframed (Framed 12in tall and 15in wide, and 1.5in deep). It weighs 10.9oz unframed (Framed 2.76lbs). It is carved out of 4 layers of laser cut wood. The map is stained in four colors. The cream background and red and silver accents are reminiscent of the color scheme to the building and cast member wardrobe. The ride vehicles scattered throughout the maps are deep red, like those from the ride itself.

My very talented artist friend, Tony Ross, created all of the line drawings for each of the characters. I designed the rest of this map myself, cut, assembled, and stained the wood. It is framed in a small plastic shadow box.

It is a great collectible for all fans of theme parks, and makes a wonderful accent to any room.
