Institute of Future Technology / Back To The Future The Ride - Wood Carved Sign
"Institute of Future Technology" Marquee This is an etched and laser cut sign. It is designed after the marquee from the now defunct Back To The Future ride at Universal Studios Florida, Hollywood, and Japan. In the ride, the 'real' institute is hosting an open house in which volunteers are invited to test Dr. Brown’s newest invention, the 8 passenger Delorean time vehicle. On the guests’ tour, Biff Tannen interrupts Dr. Brown’s presentation by stealing Doc’s original Time Machine. Doc then sends his guests on an epic car chase across the space-time continuum. The logo, and title featured in this sign are seen throughout the ride building. Back to the Future the ride operated from 1991 till 2007 (Orlando), from 1993 till 2007 (Hollywood), and from 2001 till 2016 (Japan). It was one of Universal Studios most revered and memorable attractions. We created this sign to memorialize it, and provide a piece of theme park history and memorabilia to the guests who braved the car chase of the ages. This sign is made from 4 layers of 5mm sande project plywood. It is designed, cut, assembled, and hand painted by us. It is a great collectible for all fans of Back to the Future the ride, Back to the Future the film trilogy, and theme parks in general. It is a great nostalgic conversation starter with any company one might have in their home. “Remember time travelers, that the future is what you make it!”
