"No Medjai, No Service" slogan sign.
This is an etched and laser cut sign. It is designed after the slogan said by Deb in the queue video for the Revenge of the Mummy rollercoaster at Universal Orlando.
In the ride, guests have been invited to appear as 'extras' in the next sequential Mummy movie. They will be participating in the filming of the high-speed rail car chase scene. However, all is not what it seems, as the 'real' curse of the mummy (which has plagued all of the various Mummy film sets since 1999), has brought nothing but strange occurrences and cast/crew disappearances to this filming experience as well. In the queue, guests find themselves mystically transported back to a real 1930's dig site in Egypt. It is there that Imhotep has awoken, and his minions have been serving rail cars full of unsuspecting tourists up to him on a platter.
The slogan featured in this sign is heard repeatedly in the queue video of the ride. Brendan Fraiser is attempting to get a cup of coffee from Deb at her crafts service table. However, Deb is extremely paranoid of the real curse of the mummy, and wont let anyone touch her table or her products unless they have an amulet with the symbol of the Medjai around their neck. Brendan Fraiser doesn't believe in the curse, and therefore doesn't wear the amulet. Deb repeatedly turns down his attempts to get a cup of coffee by repeating the phrase, "No Medjai, No Service".
We designed this art piece to have Deb's slogan, as well as the symbol of the Medjai used throughout the ride and Mummy films. This sign is made from 4 layers of 5mm sande project plywood. It is designed, cut, assembled, and hand painted by us.
It is a great collectible for all fans of the Revenge of the Mummy ride, The Mummy film series, and theme parks in general. It is a great nostalgic conversation starter with any company one might have in their home.
